Chevaux-Legers de Berg

I have finished the painting of the Berg's Lancier Brigade fighting in the Campaign of 1813. I have used the ITALERI 6039 'Dutch-Polish Lanciers', including the trumpet. For the colback- wearing elite company, I have used of the elites from the ITALERI 6080 'French Light Cavalry' set and one rider from the REVELL 02576 'French Mounted Guard Chasseurs'. The lances are made from wire with the lance pennants modelled with toilette tissue.

  1. Thnaks... These are "wargames quaity" figures at its best... but the research and conversion was very fun!

  2. Rafa,

They look great. How do you rate Italeri vs HaT/Zvezda? I am curious as I am increasingly tempted by plastics!

I am assuming you are talking in general. The new Italeri are good but somewhat taller (near 25 mm). The quality of Hät is increasing with time, but Zvezda has in general the better sculpting and finish.
In general, the sculpting is improving so plastics is a new (and cheaper until now) world to explore!

  6. Hello Rafa, I think that you undersell your figure painting. These are very good :) You said in your blog entry that the pennants were made from toilet tissue. How did you use that? did you coat it with woodglue?

  7. Thanks for your comments. What is your identity? Do you own a blog or web site?
With reference to the pennants, efectively, I coated with white glue before and after of the painting.
    Regards
    Rafa
