The
Russian losses are increasing and the bridge is in
French hands. The
Russian Guard seems the
key to extricate the Russians of the closing trap.

Are the chasseurs in the woods bold enough to attack the Russians before the reinforcements arrive? Can they charge in woods in your rules? Otherwise they could make a real nuisance of themselves in the Russian rear while the French infantry facing them exploit the Russian distraction!
ReplyDeleteI use Lasalle rules and these allow cavalry to charge infantry in woods (rough terrain) with great bonus: infantry cannot form square, and although they achieve a +2 bonus for 'bad terrain', infnatry must halve combat dice so the final result is biased towards cavalry. I don't know if this reallistic!
