Duben on way (II)
The combat of Düben continues. The French have avoided the Düben trap by turning the town by the left, and are now advancing to break through the Russian center.
Because of the total absence of Russian cavalry (they are Reinforcements) the Saxon Prinz Anton Uhlans have broken a Russian square, and are now in good position to menace the Russian infantry.
However, the Russian baggage train, now past the cemetery, is slowly moving away from the danger. One Russian battery is also retiring under cover of its infantry, whereas the other has deployed and is firing, with small success, againts the left French flank.
The Russians are escaping!

Hi Rafa - breaking a square is usually a difficult task in most sets of rules. How did those French lads manage that?

It was really a Russian's fault: they waited to form square until the Saxon Uhlans were on them... and they failed. In the subsequent melee, the Saxons won and the Russian battalion broke!

ReplyDeleteJuegas con unas miniaturas que siempre he querido pintar (los 15mm y napoleónicos me pierden, pero siempre acabo comprando 28mm) pero que luego no soy capaz de acabar for falta de tiempo libre. Envidiable.

ReplyDeleteGracias por tus amables comentarios. No conocía tu blog, pero veo que te dedicas a pintar profesionalmente. Lo mío es más basto jajaja. Los 28 mm son más parar expertos en pintura como tú y además cuando yo empecé, solo había plásticos 1/72.

Bueno, creo que en España casi todos empezamos por las figuras de 1/72, esas ya ni cuento las que tengo en sus matrices (una lástima pero están ahí... nunca se sabe).

Tengo sobre la mesa algunos Ingleses Napoleónicos del )5th de fusileros, pondré alguna fotillo cuando los acabe.
