Terry Wise is dead
Another of the Old Guard wargamers has passed away. Terry Wise, along Don Featherstone and Charles Grant, was one of my first inspirational readings with his book 'Introduction to battlegaming'. After, in the 80's as the owner of Athena Books, he provided me with many rare and old wargaming books, unavailable in Spain.
Rest in peace.

Terry Wise and his books got me into wargaming when I was about 13 or 14 years old. I still have those books!
ReplyDeleteIt was his books and Airfix plastic figures that started modern wargaming, influencing thousands of young adolescents to take it up. Many of us - like you and I Rafa - still enjoy gaming with little plastic figures and we owe it to legends like Terry Wise. We mourn his passing.
Cheers,
Doc
Very sad news indeed. I'm another wargamer who was inspired by those early Terry Wise books.
